Kristopher (Kris) Paul Klein, 42 of Leander, TX
died suddenly on 10/27/09.
Born in Patuxent River, MD son of Glenn Francis Klein and his wife Maria Klein, son of Dianna M. Sykes and her late husband Johnny L. Sykes. His spouse of 20 years is Teresa Q. Klein.
Mr. Klein graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte 1989 and was a 1984 graduate of Pocomoke High School, Pocomoke City, MD.
Kris was a dedicated husband and father. He was Scoutmaster for Troop 161 leading and inspiring numerous young men to the Rank of Eagle Scout. Through his involvement in scouting he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, Brotherhood and was nominated for the 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership. As an active member of Leander United Methodist Church he chaired the board of trustees and was the Senior High Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Klein held numerous positions during his 18-year tenure at Harte-Hanks, most recently Director of Telecommunications.
He loved the outdoors and spent his time camping with his sons and the Boy Scout Troop. His hobbies included RVing with his family, carpentry & mechanical projects.
He is survived by his spouse, Teresa Q. Klein, children: Korey R. Klein & Kurtis M. Klein, his parents Glenn Francis Klein & Maria Klein, Dianna M. Sykes & Johnny L. Sykes, grandparents: Madelyn Marshall-Yonnick, Mary Margret Klein, siblings: John Lesley Sykes, Robert Anthony Sykes, Angela Phyllis LaSalle, Michael James Sykes, Lourdes Peterson, Carol Lynn Sykes, Charlene Irene Boswell, Everett Lowell Sykes, Andrea Christ and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends
He was predeceased in death by Kevin Lewis Sitterson, brother, Teresa Marie Sykes, sister, Johnny L. Sykes, step-father, Gene Paul Klein grandfather, Everett Lowell Marshall grandfather
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday 10/31/09 at 1:00pm at Bethany United Methodist, Austin, TX officiated by Dr. Tim Able Pastor Leander United Methodist. Reception will follow.
